Plot : Denzel Washington is an undercover DEA agent. Mark Wahlberg is an undercover navy guy. Both of them don’t know that about each other. A bank robbery they commit have them ending up with 43 million dollars and drug lords , C.I.A and their own men running for their head. They have no choice but to work together to save their asses.
Review : Baltasar Kormakur who directed the mind blowing ‘Jar City’ directs this one which is based on a graphic novel. If you have not seen ‘Jar City’, hunt it down and watch it. It’s a terrific film. In this film working with two stars Baltasar gives us a watchable action comedy but nothing that will make you recco it or even think about it once it’s over. The sole reason is the double cross and internal dealing within the various departments and the drug lord doesn’t engage you to care two hoots about what happens to these two guys. You just sit back and watch the harmless film unfold leading up to an explosive action sequence. If you have seen Baltasar’s Mark Wahlberg starrer ‘Contraband’ you know what kind of film to expect. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg go easy on their part but bring in nothing new. You’ve seen them do this a lot of time. No surprises in terms of character here. Thanks to the censors you don’t get to see Paula Patton’s skin show which otherwise is just a wasted role. Even Bill Paxton as the C.I.A agent doesn’t pump up the thrill quotient. This is the kind of the film that satellite channels love to own and air.
Word of mouth: This one’s for the boys who can’t get enough of their action movies but home viewing worthy
