The film is a taut, twisty thrill to watch that works on many levels, from its A-list cast and beautifully-paced reveals in its mystery to arguably Affleck’s best performance. The storyline includes an intelligent examination of a high-functioning autistic man as someone who is “different” and how incredibly special being different can be.

The story is well-explained, a little violent and complex for most of the duration, bringing in a supporting cast peppered with top-notch professionals. On the side of justice, there are J.K. Simmons as a treasury agent, John Lithgow as a corporate chief and Jeffrey Tambor as Wolff's mentor. Ray King (J.K. Simmons), director of the criminal division of the Treasury Department. He’s retiring in a few weeks, and he’s determined to discover the identity of the man known only as “the accountant.” What I think Ben Affleck doesn’t need these macho movies anymore, and to be fair, neither do we. We’ve had five Bournes, three Takens, and we’re not far from a second beating by Jack Reacher.
