Finally, the long awaited reunion of the hit duo of Ajay Devgn and Milan Luthria is here and the film is a full masala potboiler. It has all the elements needed for a typical bollywood action movie. The action scenes, over the top dialogue, romance, and the comic sidekicks are in equal proportion to please all the film fanatics. Yet, without a gripping story and a definitive ending you can’t have great film.

The film is a fictional story set in the Emergency era about the daring heist Ajay and his group decides to pull off for Ileana D’ Cruz’s Maharani Geetanjali after she is targeted by the government or should we say, one person in particular who really resembles a controversial politician. Everyone is after the treasure of the king but apparently everyone has a different plan on how to spend it. But not all is what it seems; there are a lot of grey characters in the film and the Maharani also have a lot to hide, but that is for the audience to guess.

The first half is fast paced and we are introduced to the colorful band of characters with their native touch in full Rajasthani style. Ajay Devgn leads the pack as the loyal & rustic Bhawani and supporting him with full steam is Emraan Hashmi. The duo has an amazing chemistry and both the actors do justice to their roles. Ileana D’Cruz while starts off promisingly but by the end of the movie her character totally loses it. Esha Gupta doesn’t have much to do here but atleast she is better than Ileana.

Action is one of the selling points of the movie and Vidyut Jammwal is there to fulfill those wishes. But at some times, it seems irrelevant and in some places totally useless. Mindless explosions and a tiring second half drags the film as by then even the twists become predictable. It seems to include more action scenes, the makers somewhere compromised on the story. The film ends abruptly with no clear definition of what exactly happens to the characters and it leaves the audiences in confusion.

The film also has a surprise element and it’s the evergreen Sanjay Mishra who is the highlight of the film. The scenes between Sanjay Mishra and Emraan Hashmi are fun to watch and the only thing consistently good about the film is the comedy. The film could have been better but the story seems to be incomplete with many loose ends and under defined characters.
