Verdict

“ Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya is an absolute torture, this movie is even beneath the disaster that was Humshakals. A bizarre script and pathetic acting is what makes Balwinder Singh truly infamous. ”

Bad jokes, no plot, predictable set pieces, cross dressing and singers trying to act. You’d be forgiven for thinking that is a skit from Comedy nights with Kapil, but you’d be wrong. Balwinder Singh Famous ho Gaya is its weird, mutated step-cousin. It’s also one of the worst movies that i’ve ever seen. Staying home and staring at the wall is a far better way to pass your time than going for this.

The ‘plot’, for lack of a better word, is about two Balwinder Singh’s (Shaan and Mika), who happen to meet in Mumbai. Co-incidentally, a rich millionaire happens to be looking for his long lost grandson, whose name happens to be Balwinder Singh. Sensing an opportunity to become rich, both these cons leap at the chance to fool the millionaire. What follows happens to be some of the most abhorrent acting, dialogue, story, and humor ever to be caught on film. Terrible would be a mild understatement as to what Balwinder Singh Famous ho Gaya is.

I’ll put it as plainly as possible. Do not waste your time and money going for this crapfest. I would highly recommend this movie to RAW to interrogate captured terrorists with. It’s also quite ironic that Mika, who’s produced some great music for other movies, wasn’t able to come up with even a slightly catchy song for his own movie. Just avoid this utter mess of a movie.
