Bullet to the Head Review - Expendable!Feb 1, 2013News It might adapted from a graphic novel but Stallone's delayed actioner 'Bullet to the Head' plays out like it's a blast from the past, specifically the late 80s and the early 90s. I half expected Gary Busey to jump out of somewhere and do that maniacal laugh of his and maybe even Steven Segal to turn up to break a wrist or two. The plot or what little is there of it concerns a hitman, Jimmy Bobo (Sylvester Stallone) who's daughter is kidnapped by sadistic ex-mercenary, Keegan (Jason Momoa) and held hostage. Bobo's partner is also killed thanks to a contract being put out on them and Bobo has to team up with a cop, Taylor Kwon (Sung Kang) to get to the bottom of this deal. The rest involves dealing with some criminal higher ups and corrupt judges and politicians plus Keegan's henchmen, leading up to the finale between Bobo and Keegan wielding axes that oddly ends with putting the title of the movie to good use.The movie has all the trademarks yesteryear action movies, right down to the cheesy one-liners, large guns, explosions and car chases that honestly lead nowhere. People are shot, stabbed, blow-up left, right and centre. All while Stallone maintains a stoic straight face and utter one cheesy line after the other. Jason Momoa on the other hand has the creepy, sinister killer bit down to a pat and actually has the physical prowess to go one on one with Rocky himself. Sung Kang plays his it with enough humour and lightness to seem utterly superfluous.'Bullet to the Head' is an enjoyable action flick for those who enjoyed the action movies from a certain bygone era with limited set pieces and filled with enough cheese to choke a mouse. For the rest, this is a poorly written movie that might hold nothing of interest. Might be fun to actually count the number of people who get shot through the head in the movie...Danish Bagdadi Bullet to the Head Review - Expendable! Feb 1, 2013
