It is in this area, on a stormy rainy day, that wealthy Aman Kapoor's car breaks down. His efforts to call for help via his cell phone are in vain, and he takes shelter in a nearby building. This is where he comes in contact with a prostitute named Chameli.

How many times you see a movie on prostitute, Umraoo Jaan, very few. Here comes out a movie by Sudhir Mishra centred on the prostitute, Chameli. And it manages to pull out an interesting aspect and facet of her life, making the movie occupying.

Chameli (Kareena Kapoor) is a prostitute in a brothel, who was sold off by her uncle when she was a child. Rahul Bose is an investment banker who has lost his wife in a car acccident and is unable to get over it. Gloom, depressed and pensive, he is clueless. One night he is throwing a party, which he himself doesn't attend. His car broke down midway to home, while its raining. He takes a shelter in the pathway and there he meets Chameli. He initially detests her presence and scoffs at her. Tiffs happened and Chameli loses her potential customer. Aman feels guilty and offers to pay back for the loss.

What follows is the sequence of events, fight between Chamelis' owner and Aman and Chameli landing to police station. Meanwhile, Aman develops a soft corner for Chameli, when she expreeses her desires, and life she lives.

The movie is riveting. One of the finest performances by Kareena till this movie. She is completely in the character and brings out a street-smart girl role very weell. Rahul is always in ease with his
characters from dejected guy, to tough one, to a changed person concernng about his father-in-law he plays them perfect.

The music is good, Sajna Ve Sajna and Bhaage re Mann are both great chartbusters.

Its great that the Bollywood films are breaking the shell of a time tested scripts and coming out with this different and interesting ideas to entertain the audience, with good cinema.view less
