Director Ajay Chandok tried to give Bollywood its Pink Panther but honestly they have created a disaster. It seems film-makers had no clue that what they are going to present onscreen as nothing in the movie made any sense. Chatur Singh Two star looked like some boring mess of random sequences joined together.

From bad performances to stupid dialogues to brainless script to awful gags everything was inept and dull. Sanjay Dutt was nowhere near to Jacques Clouseau and did a horrible job as whatever film-makers tried to show him. This movie is like a torture for viewers and should be totally avoided.
Personally, I have no clue that why even movie-makers attempted to make this flick and so much wasted time & money. This one is a perfect example of how NOT to make a comedy action flick. Not even is single thing can be appreciated about Chatur Singh. Even the climax holds nothing great on the contrary it's utterly stupid.

All in all Chatur Singh turned out to be some juvenile piece of work with nothing good enough to hold the viewers.

I have long advocated for the need to provide statutory warnings with films much like on that on a box of cigarettes; I present yet another case for this cause, 'Chatur Singh Two Star'. This is a movie that makes me feel bad for having ripped to shreds the dignity of other movies, for anything compared to this mess can be regarded as a piece of art.

Ripping off 'The Pink Panther' series may seem like the plan but honestly the work is so shoddy that I'd rather watch the worst of the series a million times again before ever watching this ever again. The very laws of filmmaking defy you by their absolute absence, be it the writing, the acting, the camerawork, songs, the list is literally endless. No wonder it arrived in theatres with no fanfare to speak of, the makers really knew they had a stinker on their hands.

I find it even more odd is that slapstick comedy isn't something that it truly alien to us, I mean just look at the Golmaal or Dhamaal series & countless other comedies recently to see that we seem to thrive on this kind of cinema; yet 'Chatur Singh' cant manage to even get this element right. I mean youve had to work really hard to fall below the levels of Sajid Khan & most of Priyadarshan's comedy output for the last five years.

Is there a point discussing plot-holes the size of brontosauruses in a movie like this? Is there any point in discussing how terrible each and every actor is? Is there a point in telling you how my respect for Sanjay Dutt & Anupam Kher falls a few notches more? Is there a point in berating yet another Hindi movie for using animal costumes for (non)comic purposes? Is there a point to this review? I guess not, if you have already watched this movie or are planning to, then you don't need this review.

I salute all those brave souls who dared to watch this movie and survive to tell the tale, they are the real heroes; few things can erase the memory of an experience so traumatic.

If Sanjay Dutt thought he could pull off an Inspector Jacques Clouseau act from the hilarious Pink Panther series in this movie he has failed miserably. Sure, he has the razor thin moustache that Peter Sellers sports but nothing else in terms of plot or acting to match that legendary hero.

I don't know if I should waste my time on the story. There is Inspector Chatur Singh, a detective, a sidekick (Suresh Menon trying hard to be funny) a maniacal Police Chief, his sidekick,an innocent heroine, assorted gangsters,diamonds and lots of wierdcostumes and get ups. Enough said.

Sanjay Dutt looks too old and haggard to begin with. Then the grimaces and faces he makes will scare even his infant twins. Amisha Patel makes her presence, I mean her body, felt in skimpy clothes. Anupam Kherson deserves a Filmfare Award for looking serious in a bunny costume. Satish Kaushik acts like a taxi, Shakti Kapoor as a don and Gulshan Grover as a lecherous politician.

Stop reading right now and thank me for wasting my time so I could save yours. I am doing this job for the country.

Chatur Singh Two Stars is the kind of a film that makes blind men thank god they can't see this monstrosity.

Pathetically inspired by the Pink Panther movies, this is a story of a dumbwitted cop and his moronic assistant who try to solve crimes and end up in supposedly silly situations. There is a murder, a few chases, a song with Ameesha in a garish red saree thrown in for good measure as well. And did I mention a few lost diamonds? An apology for a plot, the film is ludicrous bore and a torture to sit through.

Sanjay Dutt sleepwalks through the film, visibly disinterested in the proceedings. Ameesha, well with her non exisitent career, this is the best she could perhaps manage. What is baffling though is why some one like Anupam Kher would agree to be a part of this drivel.

A director on vacation, story non existent and Chatur Singh is perhaps the worst film this year. Stay clear at any cost. view less

Without a speck of any doubt Chatur Singh Two Star has definitely got to be the worst picture of Sunjay Dutt's career right from Rocky and that is quite a dubious achievement considering he has made some real bad and I mean BAD films in his career but all said and done this one truly takes the cake along with the baker and the bakery. For the life of me I fail to figure out what the heck was Sunju baba doing in such an absolutely trashy film?

Either he was spaced out when he was given a story session he had too be coz there isn't even a single line story to begin with or more probaby he signed this film to reward Ameesha Patel for being his wife's shadow and thus consented to work with her even though she is a has been semi retired actress with no films on her hands and this was meant to be her last shot to revive her comatose career or horror of horrors this was one of those films Sunju signed years back that went into hibernation and got revived by a sheer miracle.

But no matter what was the reason for making this trash film see the light of the day it has got to be all the wrong reasons as there is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing about this film that can salvage this film from positive doom because that is what it was destined for in the first place.

I find it hard to figure out as to what kind of a guy would pump his own hard earned money into an asine film like Chatur Singh could it be just because of his love of Sunjay Dutt alone or because he wanted to see himself on screen sharing space with Ameesha and Sunju? Considering the fact that he had the funds to sign Sunjay Dutt what eludes me is unless Maanyata put pressure on her hubby to elbow in bosom buddy Ameesha for old times sakes. Why else would he opt for a finished and dried actress of Ameesha's caliber and ruin his film unless he himself had the hots for the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai babe?

So what is Chatur Singh all about well two things first/ The first being that there is absolutely nothing 'Chatur' about this Chatur Singh who actually appears too foolish to even imagine being true and secondly if the producer and director thought this tripe film would actually get two stars then they were simply living in a fools paradise or were wishful thinking coz Chatur Singh does not even deseve a single star from even the most generous of reviewers and as for the audience they were really fast in spreading the word as to what an absolutely rotten film Chatur Singh was and thus after the first show everyone turned their back on this nerve shattering film that has absolutely no parallel when it comes to being the absolute pits.

Seeing the trash that Ajay Chandok has churned out he shall need loads of luck if he is to get another single chance to direct a feature film after Chatur Singh and since Sanju put his reputation at stake to play Chatur Singh just for the sake of Ameesha Patel hope he did not make any concessions as far as his fees went.As for Ameesha she is bound to be eternally greatful to the Dutts for having stood by her and supported her in such difficult times when noone is willing to touch her even with a bargepole that too when she herself is the producer.

The bottom line and I don't mean Ameesha's bottoms but that of Chatur Singh Two star is that you really have to be quite a 'Moorkh' to spend money to watch this movie coz many would be Chatur enough not to even see it for free becoz for them time is money and they would not like to waste their precious time on such an idiotic film that has no saving grace..Absolutely none!!!
