Direct Ishq features one of the most original plots seen in Bollywood; A love triangle. If that wasn’t unique enough, The two guys chasing after the girl are polar opposites of each other. It also features a predictable plot and stale dialogues showing that the filmmakers had all areas covered including LGBT stereotypes.
In the city of Varanasi, Dolly Pandey is an aspiring singer who wants to be the biggest rockstar in the country. She’s a take no sh*t kinda girl who makes men question their confidence. Kabeer is a guy who runs an event management company in Mumbai who wants to use Dolly for his own gain, but he soon falls in love with her. Vicky Shukla is a local gunda who doesn’t beat around the bush, but does beat up others now and then. He’s extremely straightforward and he’s also in love with Dolly. He follows her on her journey, hoping to make her his.
After watching Direct Ishq, you’ll be left with one thing on your mind; Why? What was there in this movie that you haven’t already seen a million times before? Fine, you can deal with unoriginality, but it’s not even done well. The actors struggle with their one dimensional characters, going through the motions till the movie ends. Their characters aren’t relatable, nor are they endearing. Just avoid Direct Ishq.
