There is a scene in Dirty Politics where a police officers Sushant Singh and Atul Kulkarni are beating the @#$$ out of a hired gun. How much did they give you to bump off the political activist.

"Ten thousand rupees"

"Duz hazaar rupay keliye kisi ki jaan le lo ge"

"Market mai yehi rate chal raha hai, Sir. Mai nahi karoonga koi aur kardega"

Something tells me that is EXACTLY what Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Sushant Singh, Atul Kulkarni, Naseeruddin Shah, Rahul Solanki, Ashutosh Rana, Rajpal Yadav, Govind Namdev, Charu Sharma may have told themselves.

"Mai nahi karoonga koi aur kardega".

I am not mentioning Om Puri and Mallika Sherawat in this illustrious phone directory, for *cough* *cough* well aqalmand keliye ishara and all that.

Mallika Sherawat alternates between ho hum where is my spot now and hey lets give it my best shot even if the dialogues are inane and my character sketch sillier.

This movie is about a missing CD that got an ambitious young woman who has dreams of making it to the Lal Batti life, killed. But of course rather than make it an interesting story about a complex character there HAS to be a back story of a two plaits dung patty making principled girl who drops her principles picks up the dancing, feminine wiles life because you know majboori and gharibi. And so much blackmailing.

That Dirty Politics was released on Holi weekend makes perfect sense for hello, women being pawed at, one feeling outraged and violated from the comfort of a cinema seat. What is not to be outraged about. Add to that a judge being made to watch a CD about consensual sex (so what if its an aging Om Puri taking a chunk off Sherawat's shoulder and Mallika's character setting him up for a sting) and pronouncing the watch as DISGUSTING and then a CD of Shah's character's daughter being raped and all he has to say is Who Is This? "My daughter"..ah ok, bad things happening to a good girl. Coming this weekend in the times of  Ban Week and our problematic understanding of women's sexuality and patriarchal control; I dont even know where to begin.

All is left for me to do the rest of the week is to discover the CD/smoking gun which blackmailed such a stellar cast and K.C. Bokadia to churn out this turkey.
