Rarely has a film made an entire audience of habitual talkers and disturbing oafs shut up and sit at the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens next as a blind guy hounds the two intruders in his home to their gory bloddy end. Don't breathe grips you like a constrictor cobra from the word go , making you uncomfortable and squeasy and scared as hell as the unpredictable twists and turns unspool on screen.

An army veterans home in the ghost side of town is invaded by three youngsters looking for a quick money - three grand in cash to be precise. Underestimating what they were up against, the trio soon get sucked into a gory vicious and relentlessly menacing home through which death seems to be the only escape. a plot twist in the second half adds unimaginable sadism to the mix making the escape from the house all the more urgent.

Don't breathe wins hands down in making the atmospherics of this genre of horror work like a charm. The audience is in its grasp from the word go and we just cannot take a deep breath of relief as the film relentlessly scares us, not with scares and sound effects but by gruesome visceral violence.

enacted perfectly the film benefits hugely from tight precise editing, almost as if the makers were in the movie hall looking at your expressions as an audience and adding to the thrills on the story real time.

Don't , at any cost, miss this one.
