Verdict

“Dracula Untold fails to live up to the audience's expectation. With an uninspired story line, and below average performances, this saga is best left untold. ”

Dracula Untold is the amazing tale of Vlad The Impaler’s dilemma between leading his people to fighting the Turks or turn in thousands of boys as slaves to the Sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) who wants to make them Turkish soldiers. Having experienced being a child slave himself, he faces the bitterness while the Sultan asks him to turn in his son as a sacrifice.

Faced by the carnal desire to save his family and empire, Vlad The Impaler (Luke Evans, in all his hotness) walks into the Broken Tooth, the cave of the Dracula (Charles Dance). He strikes a deal with the monster who gives him the powers of a 100 men and the strength to overcome his enemies- but it will last only 3 days. The twist in the deal being he cannot give in to the temptation of drinking blood, if he does, he remains a Dracula forever, else he can go back to being a mortal being. Does the Great Impaler save his family and empire and still become a mortal? Who wins the war and what are the losses that are cut?

Expect all the beauty that goes into a dark fantasy, the blood and the magnificence that comes with the fantasy of the Dracula way…all this and more captured well keeps the audience marveled throughout. Gary Shore’s direction is brilliant and the screenplay ensures all eyes on the screen. Justified performances by all characters makes this a good watch.
