Not everyone is aware of the fact that long before Karan Johar and Yash Chopra came on his horizon, it was Viveck Vaswani who proved to be the struggling Shahrukh Khan's Godfairy in Bollywood. Not only did he give him his first major break when he landed from Delhi to try his luck on the silver screen but even gave him a roof over his head too.
That is an obligation that Shahrukh Khan has never forgotten and the result is that he is always available for Viveck Vaswani even in insipid films like Dulha Mil Gaya and he cannot say no to his original Godfairy..no matter what!!
But whatever made a smart cookie like Sushmita Sen take up a film like Dulha Mil Gaya-surely not Viveck Vaswani as she does not owe him any favor. So could it possibly be Shahrukh Khan who helped her to make up her mind or could this possibly be another case of checkbook acting like the precedent set by Priyanka Chopra in Pyaar Impossible?
Fardeen Khan seriously needs to take a good hard look at himself in the mirror nt just to discover his 'wajood' but also to see if he recognises the bloated stranger in the mirror before signing his next feature film!!!
The only person who comes across as a whiff of fresh air and breezes right across the film is the dew fresh Ishita Sharma. In spite of the presence of Sushmita Sen, Shahrukh Khan & Fardeen Khan heading the cast Dulha Mil Gaya belongs to Ishita Sharma who says miracles no longer happen in Bollywood.
Right from the very first frame as she makes her gauchy entry in the interiors of rural Punjab as Samarpreet to the eye-popping transformation as Samara in the Carribean under the magic wand of super-model Shimar as she chases her roving eye way-ward husband across the globe it's Ishita who brings any freshness to this dull and drab luke warm film that simply drags it's feet from the first frame.
Fardeen Khan as a Casanova is truly a laugh coz his bloated frame makes him a rather pathetic one at that and so when he fumes and frets that he does not want to get married at all the character Tania played by Tara Sharma taunts him towards the end of the film why would any girl want to marry him anyway...Maybe Natasha would have an answer to that one but the below the belt socker comes when she adds just because he rocks the bed nor his size matters so he can take all his attitude and shove it up you know where!!! Truly Donseye is stunned and for a reflex moment that sees to freeze poor Fardeen Khan too seems to be hit by a bullet train that too below the belt!!
In a way that is the true USP of Dulha Mil Gaya . Shahrukh Khan casually strolls into the film well into the second half on Karva Chauth as he silently pines for his Shimar who is too busy chasing her dream career as a super globe trotting model to notice the love in his eyes.
A contract marriage between Fardeen and Ishita results in the dumped bride arriving from Punjab to the Carribean via Miami all alone with stars in her eyes and dreams in her heart only to find herself ditched royally until she get knocked down by Shimar's limo and she takes her not just home but under her wings too to get her justice as she see a reflection of herself in the girls innocence and tears.
After Main Hoon Na when Sushmita & Shahrukh simply rocked together for the first time this time around they're too simply bored to care who is opposite them as they want to get the film over and done with. Sushmita Sen is bound to have her vast legion of fans screaming (not in sheer delight but) in disgust as she makes a real farce of her acting skills. All said and done Dulha Mil Gaya is a perfect to miss movie unless you wanna show your undying support to Sushmita Sen & Shahrukh Khan as their die-hard fans!!!
