Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is just a routine entry into a long list of Paranormal Activities. There’s virtually nothing in it that you haven’t seen before in the earlier entrants. The same old found footage camerawork with jump scares added around the end. There’s nothing wrong with the movie, per se, but the entire concept has been done to death and is in serious need of a rejig before the makers even think on creating another. The movie will definitely give you a fright, but after it's all over you’ll be left wondering what the characters names were. It’s that forgettable.

A family with kids moves into a pretty new home. Family discovers old VHS tapes of the house’ previous owners. Featured in the tapes are protagonists from the old Paranormal Activity movies, showing their progression into possession. By a Ghost. Anywho, similar things start happening to their child and she too starts behaving strangely, not unlike the girls on the VHS tapes. Despite such hurdles, the families skill at wielding a camera is undiminished, because instead of getting the hell outta dodge, they stay. And record. It’s soon discovered that the portal to hell is in their house and they are in deep sh*t, but they still remain steadfast in their dedication to getting everything on video.

The above could be the plot description for any of the Paranormal Activity movies. The series has stuck to its formula and now it has gotten rather stale. Solid acting by the cast does little to deflect from the feeling that you’ve seen it all before. Five times. Only the most rabid fans of the series or someone who’s never seen a Paranormal Activity movie before will get something out of this. For the rest, it’s a miss.
