    Skyfallmaker,Sam Mendes, confirms the news to a leading international tabloid that he wouldn’t be directing James Bond’s 24thadventure. BAFTA’s Outstanding British Film prize winner seems to focus more on hisupcomingtheater projects.

    Mendes commented, “It has been a very difficult decision not to accept Michael [G. Wilson] and Barbara [Broccoli]’s very generous offer to direct the next Bond movie. DirectingSkyfallwas one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions ofCharlie And The Chocolate FactoryandKing Lear, that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond.”
