There is a mystery about Jism 2 that needs to be solved. And its about Sunny Leones handbag. I want to know what it is that she is carrying around in that bag that she will not part ways with it, from carrying it while going for a walk to switching it from hand to hand while running away from getting killed. Finally, when she dies, she falls with her head on the bag. It proves once and for all that a womans handbag is her best friend above calls of love, duty, story or logic.

Apart from this interesting side thing, there is nothing much to interest you in Jism2. The story is about some good cops chasing a bad cop. They enlist the help of Sunny who used to be the bad cops ex lover. The story inches forward excruciatingly slowly while she works out what is happening and leaves you yawning.

The semi porn scenes worked quite well for me though. Sunny has a voluptuous body that she displays proudly in red teddies with garters, tiny shorts and fluorescent bikinis. She is at ease in the love scenes, arching her back effortlessly and pouting suggestively. Mr. Hooda and Mr. Arunoday Singh try to match up to her histrionic abilities and Mr. Hooda succeeds quite admirably primarily because he gets to shed more clothes than Arunoday. Besides, the latter has big ears which probably get in the way of orgasmic lovemaking. There were a lot of catcalls, whistles and embarrassed laughter floating around the theatre in these scenes proving that they were a hit with the primarily teenage college audience.

The script lets the movie down. The good cop bad cop mystery had potential if had been kept tighter and meaner. Instead what you get is Randeep acting progressively demented, Arunoday acting progressively love crazed and Arif Zakaria getting progressively lost. Sunny looks confused and distressed all the time. She supplements this expression by heaving her chest as a sign of any emotion from sorrow, to anger to lust to love.

The ishq bhi kiya re maula song is very good with a marvellous raw feel to it, though demented Randeep hacks away at the cello like he is sawing a tree in half.

Overall, not worth a visit to the theatre. Am sure Sunny Leone has a lot of movies out there which show more of her at her professional best. And if at all you want to watch her in Jism 2 , get the dvd home, do a scene selection and get it over with. Avoid.

Most of you would want to know how is Sunny Leone in the film. The answer to that lies in her porn films not in this headache inducing film masquerading as an erotic thriller.

Izna (Sunny Leone) is a porn star. Sadly, we dont see her at work. She is picked up at a bar by Ayaan (Arunoday Singh) to work for the intelligence agency and set up as a honey trap against Kabir (Randeep Hooda). What follows is a mix of unintentional humor, dialogues that belong in a Deepak Chopra book and bad acting at its worst.

Pooja Bhatt is not good at direction and she has proved that with 4 films already. Here at least she had a beautiful looking Sunny Leone. She could have at least used her as eye candy and given us some adult entertainment. She also had two hunks for the female gaze but she makes no use of it.

With dialogues like har jism ka ek expiry date hota hai and woh mera samundar hai to words like jalalat and mayaar being used this is dialogue writing that belongs to a different space. In one of the scenes Arif Zakaria talks about Randeep Hooda by saying he was the best the emotion with which he delivered that line felt as if he had slept with him.

Sunny Leone could easily become the brand ambassador for Baba Ramdevs breathing exercises. Be it Pain, joy, hurt, love or lust every emotion is portrayed by breathing heavily. It is only through her breathing you can try to gauge what emotions she is portraying.

Randeep Hooda got a new lease of life with Once upon a time in Mumbai and Sahib biwi aur gangster and Jannat 2 helped him in solidifying that phase. This one is a bumpy speed breaker for him. Arunoday Singh is yet to find his space in terms of roles and characters he should be doing. His dialogue delivery is forced and at times unintentionally funny.

Word of mouth Watch Sunny Leones best performance at a browser near you because this one is a honey trap for the audience.

Jism 2 like The Tree of Life, starts with a quote from the Book of Job (Ahem). Before entering the theater, I was wondering if this film would be another remake of a Hollywood film like Jism wished it was a remake of Billy Wilders masterpiece: Double Indemnity (1944). Hell, they wish it had been a remake of Body Heat (1981) (which was also a remake of Double of Indemnity) but it was a mere trifle.

I was wondering which other 40s film by a master filmmaker will they taint this time. To my horror, this film was indeed a pseudo-remake. I wouldnt like to call it loosely based because that would be giving the filmmakers too much credit for shamelessly lifting another masterpiece. This time they chose the Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece: Notorious (1946).

The film begins with an awkward scene between Izna (Sunny Leone) and Ayaan (Arunoday Singh) as they lustfully slip into bed. Next morning, he asks her to become a spy for him and retrieve top-secret data for his Intelligence Agency. The carrier of the data is her ex-lover, who she presumed dead but is alive and kicking. In fact he is a terrorist now. She is hesitant to take up the job due to her grief (?) even if it will pay her 10 crores. (Who pays 10 crores for THAT!?)

Sunny Leone makes porn stars look bad. If this is called hot, there is something seriously wrong with the men of our country. She respirates heavily in random scenes. Her body seems to be doing something else while her face is on another tangent and the dialogues convey something else entirely. No wonder she is a porn actress. Her body knows what to do while the camera is on. The only problem is that she doesnt manage to look good while doing it. A major hurdle Miss Leone faces is that her character has to pretend to still be in love with Kabir (Randeep Hooda), her ex-boyfriend. Hence, Leone not just has to act in a film but her character also has to put on an act. Assessment: double the pressure, double the failure.

At the beginning, I thought Randeep Hooda is the only one who has a command over his role. Then he suddenly starts hamming and soon, the hamming turns into something psychotic. Hes quite a good actor but has chosen the wrong projects. Along with the recent Cocktail, Jism 2 is one of the bad decisions hes made.

Izna finally meets Kabir (Randeep Hooda) after all those years she mourned sleeping with other men. She is supposed to act surprised. Awkwardly enough, not a single facial muscle makes a twitch. You could argue that she was in shock and couldnt move. But she didnt look shocked either! Kabir also shuts the door on her, which gives a new meaning to the new-age acronym WTF. He is now living in a weird blue planetarium (it could also be a wannabe aquarium). He also has newfound cello-playing skills. But if thats an excuse to put in the song, Maula, I can totally understand. That song is an absolute winner but sadly, no other song really makes a mark.

Izna is unable to decide who she is in love with for most of the duration of the film. Arunoday is unable to decide which facial muscle to spaz out. Randeep is unable to decide which intense look to make. Certain dramatic scenes are laughable. The dialogues are terrible. I couldnt believe my ears when a character said: Tum jaanti ho ek terrorist ko marna punya hota hai (You know that killing a terrorist is a good deed). It was a competition between the three actors of who can make the weirdest, most inappropriate expressions. My winner is the retarded attacks of Arunoday Singh. This guy is definitely on something. He takes the unintentionally funny drama of the film to unfathomable depths.

There is a twist in the end, which the filmmakers wish, would blow our brains away. Apart from the fact that it can be seen miles away, it makes the political stance of the film extremely juvenile. This brings me back to Notorious where the politics was impeccably layered. It is one of the most romantic, one of the best films ever made. It masterfully juggles personal trust issues with patriotism, devotion to the country with devotion to your lover. It is also a poem on the heart-crushing emotion of jealousy. Jism 2 completely misses the point, not just of Notorious, but also of its own plot. Its understandable if they didnt want to make a romantic film but what about the basic suspense of the film? It could have been a good film, if only the Bhatts didnt watch Hitchcock films (including Suspicion) without studying the grammar behind them.

I cant recommend this film. But I can highly recommend Notorious. If you havent seen it, watch it right now. If you have, watch it again instead of watching this. Jism 2 fails as an erotic thriller but primarily fails as a film. There is no excuse for bad filmmaking. If Mahesh Bhatt had got the script right (or maybe got somebody else to write it), he should have then got the casting right, and then probably got somebody else to direct. Oh wait. view less
