Verdict

“A perfect Journey for the kids. The cinematography really comes to life with superb 3D effects. Adults may be disappointed with the plot holes and Bollywood style drama.”

If you are over the age of 15, you may, and in fact most probably will be disappointed with the few plot holes, and excessive drama in the film. I can however imagine children loving the film, and parents walking out 100% satisfied.

I'm not a huge fan of The Rock, his massive muscles and man boobs which he wasn't afraid to show-off throughout the film. Also I get really annoyed while sitting in a theater when I can pick out the obvious loopholes in the film. Having said this, Journey 2 was probably one of the few films I have seen which has it's 3D effects, bang on! So bang on that in one specific scene, the whole row of audience I was sitting with, screamed together as a strange looking insect jumped towards us!

Acting throughout the film is average, which is pretty much what I expected when I heard that Vanessa Hudgens was casted as one of the leads. But this again, is something most teens (especially boys, if I am not mistaken) would love! Though the story was average, the beautiful location of the film makes up for some of it.

Overall, I would say watch it if you have kids, if you are a kid, or if you have nothing better to do this weekend. Not a movie worth watching on TV, unless you have a fancy 3D television.
