Vinay Pathak with really awful hair (is it a toupee? is it a hair weave? is it a bad case of some miracle regrow cream) is in competition with Mugdha Godse with a really awful Punjoo accent in a movie about what happens when Chetan Bhagat meets over drinks with friends  who may be aspiring talented writers.

In a story which may have been tolerable if it was set in Montparnasse..enough bombastic writers, and talented 'waiting to be publisheds' interpersed by Women of the Night but you know Pathak and Godse are playing  Rajma Maggie eaters in North India or North India as Mumbai thinks it is..insert kulchas and many many instances of Pinglish. Dialing Outrage.

But wait Raima Sen's very Bengali Rubina  that Pathak's character runs into in a gambling den and is now very keen that he has his Happy Ending has just described herself as " I cant stay at home for I am a *insert meaningful look* Working Woman". Yes. Such a good year for Delhi women I say. Pathak's Puroshottam curious about her life story or probably just looking for a story..writer hai bhai..asks in all earnest Since When Have You Been a Working Woman? Why Are You A Working Woman? Rubina (tear drop) Writer Father. Dead Mother. Brother's Fee.

You know lest we are confused about the heart of gold.

So no happy endings for Puroshottam I guess.

So a young in love couple meet the husband's friends over drinks where a loudmouth when not hitting on the wife is gloating over his one book every two months publishing record. Our man Puroshottam is an honest (to himself) writer which translates as languishing manuscripts. The couple have a tiff and the man goes off on a bender..and thats where his (and the audience's) troubles begin.

I would have watched this film if it was playing on TV some afternoon ..maybe...aakhir mere bhi koi standards hain. Though Pathak is lowering his by the week. Fool me once I say....
