Parents and family are the most important & respected part of anyone, and the best way to emote a feeling out of anyone. This extravaganza from Karan Johar, all about loving your family, is a must watch for those who cherishes the Indian family system and revers the tradition of family bonding. The love and bonding of parents and children makes them so unseparable that no matters how far they are, they are very close.

A big mansion, lush green lawns sprawling million acres, and helicopter flies down, with Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) comes out and his mother (played by Jaya Bachchan, Nandini) already felt his presence around. A truely larger than life scene, makes so believable with the director from the heart Karan Johar, and the superb star performances includng SRK, the king of melodrama.

Rahul is an adopted son of Yashvardhan Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan). Rahul fells in love with a girl from Chandni Chowk Anjali, played by Kajol.

Yash, decides Rahul marrying his childhood friend Naina, (Rani Mukerjee), who is already in love with him. The character resemblances from Karan's previous venture Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is evident, and makes this grandiloquent venture a little repititive too. The background score keeps switching to 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Title track. Yash is highly dejected with Rahul's love interest for a small town girl. Rahul pacifies him by ensuring that he will marry a girl of yash's choice only. Meanwhile, things turn out and Rahul has to marry Anjali. Yash cannot stand it at all and throws Rahul out of his family calling him an orphan, who didn't respected the family that brought him up so well.

Few years later, Rohan (played by Hrithik Roshan) comes back from his education and is devasatated to hear about this news. He decides to bring his brother and sister in law back home. He asks his dad that he is moving to london on pretext of pursuing an MBA. There with the help of Pooja (Kareena kapoor), younger sister of Anjali, he lands in Rahul's home as a guest.

The outcome is surely expected, but the melodrama keeps your eyes wet all the times. In the world of mindless entertainers, this one is surely a great gift by any child to his parents. A great realisation of the love the children owe to their parents, a love that holds the society and culture of Indian families and depictedly so beautifully, though in a grandiloquent manner by Karan.

The performances as expected from a big powerful cast is phenomenal. Amitabh Bachchan, as a strict, martinet person who believes in his family virtues and values, the status of his family is great. Jaya Bachchan as an obedient wife and a mother, whose son has to leave to oblige to her husband
s wishes is too great. Shahrukh is great in fun acts and also in emotional acts he is phenonmenla. Hrithik pulls off a fine task who makes peace, the bonding of his brother and father back. Kajol is the best part of the film, the mouth-utter chandni chowk's punjabin, she is a treat to watch in both funny and emotional scenes. Kareena plays her part.

Everyone's chemistry is great. The chemistry of Hrithik-Shahrukh as brothers, Shahrukh =Kajol as husband-wife, amitabh-Shahrukh as father son, shahrukh-jaya as son mother, or Hrithik Kareena as lovers is too great.

Too designer costumes, grandiloquent sets, amazing dance numbers by Hrithik, great music, brilliant performances makes this film surely a blockbuster.
