Kappal got into bigger league even before the release by attracting Director Shankar and also getting back his S Pictures alive after 4 years. Kappal, directed by debutant Karthik G Krish, former assistant of Director Shankar. Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa are the leads along with VTV Ganesh, Karunakaran and many other playing important roles.
The story line is simple, five close friends from childhood in a smaller town Mayiladuthurai promises not to marry or love a girl and have to safeguard their friendship till death. Vasu (Vaibhav) one among them differs and gets out from them and joins Nelson (VTV Ganesh) in Chennai. With help from Nelson, Vasu finds Deepika (Sonam Bajwa) and gets going with his love well until his childhood friends land in Chennai. What happens next is the ride of laughs with this Kappal.
Vaibhav along with VTV Ganesh, Sonam Bajwa given a decent performance and suits to their role every well. Sonam Bajwa’s lip sync was perfect and marks her arrival into Tamil industry with a bang. When Vasu’s friends do those mindless comical things in the second half and in the climax makes everyone to laugh without any questions. This was the clear success for Director Karthik G Krish.
Music Director Natarajan Sankaran, done good job in songs and his BGM flows with the story. Overall, Kappal is a clear comical boat with logic less, mindless comedy which keeps you interesting for 2 hours and worth for the money..!!
