Tollywood is slowly trying to break out of the humdrum. The new territories it charted are lending it few successes and also failures. In this scheme of things, Kshanam comes as a proverbial cherry on top of all the thrillers of recent times. This one definitely outshines others in terms of its narration and the way little events evolve into a larger scale peeling a layer of surprise with each passing scene. There are many questions thrown into the mix and there are answers too. So goes the detailing of the film.

Let’s look at the actors in the list. We have Adivi Sesh, Adah Sharma, Anasuya (on debut), Satyadev, Satyam Rajesh, Vennela Kishore and more. Now, can they carry the film on their shoulders? That too a taut thriller, where a subtle shade of bad acting can spill the beans and kill the joy of watching it. Yes, I affirm that Kshanam is a testimony of under-rated actors firing all their cylinders. You remember them for their commendable performances and the way they transcend the ordinary.

All thanks to the screenplay penned by Adivi Sesh that doesn’t leave a dull moment. There were few lags and overstretched scenes in the first half but they have a solid purpose that surface as the film inches towards the climax. So the tight narration makes up for all the slow tracks Thankfully, the film shines without run-on-the-mill songs and an underplayed romantic thread. That too was placed to bring out subtle emotions during the course of the film.

Director Ravikanth explored the non-linear narration and flashbacks to the fullest. As every suspense thriller, this one has a strong technical muscle and a immersible background score. That makes Kshanam a taut thriller that’s extremely detailed and elementarily poignant. And next time, when you see these actors in a film you raise the bar of expectations.
