Verdict: Though it lacks story and intelligence, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is mindless fun, strung together by tight pacing and numerous gags to tickle your funny bone. A one-time watch.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is not a film I would call good or bad. (Actually I will and it is bad). But to be fair, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is made for a particular audience and Im certainly not one of them. It is simply not something that fits into my idea of comedy. While I like to believe my choices to be extremely diverse, I admit that my taste in comedy is highly questionable. I like my humor to be extremely witty. Youd imagine Id say that, right? But no. Not always. I do not make false claims of wanting humor to always be intelligible. I revel in dumb humor. I even enjoy Bollywood humor. But there has always been a dissension between dirty humor and me.

There are a few instances when dirty humor can make me laugh. The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) is genuinely funny, Delhi Belly (2011) had lots of dirt but it still had class. Albeit, R-rated potty-mouthed films from American Pie (1999) to The Hangover (2009) just dont tickle my fancy. Needless to say, the previous Kool film or Masti (2004) also bored me. Clearly, I was not looking forward to this film. But I did want to be surprised. Alas, it turned out to be a tasteless, cheap and mostly unfunny.

The first half of the film is relatively better than the second. Some dialogues did make me laugh but those laughs were few and scattered (Antara Mali for example). Dil Garden Garden did get stuck in my head especially the papara papara papara papa bit. That is about it. There is nothing else I could find worth watching in this film. The second half is definitely a bad movie. For those who thought Bol Bachchan defames homosexuals, you have to see this film. Even the barriers in their love lives are a result of the confusion over their sexual orientation. Whenever Tusshar Kapoor says: dude, he makes the word more and more unkool.

We have seen many movies recently with characters getting drunk. They are mostly fun to watch. This film has a similar scene except it just falls flat due to terrible acting. There is a character imaginatively called Trippy. He happens to take annoyance to a new level. To top all of this, the film is way too long. If you dont make a good film, just dont make it long. But I guess they like it long. (Since, no sexual innuendo on earth should be left behind, right?)

In a film like this, it doesnt matter how the plot is or the characters are. But nobody can deny that if you do the same crass humor in a good movie it can still work. It promises one thing: a dirty picture. But my idea of dirty jokes is not one double meaning dialogue after another. Me being averse to this type of humor aside, the film is just not funny. It is boring and annoying. The amount of times the Rosemary Marlow joke is told, it seems as if the movie also knows it is running out of jokes. But hey, the characters in the film do admit this is an ordinary film. It doesnt wish to be extraordinary. The only problem is this isnt ordinary. I can vouch for the fact that ordinary films are better than this. Another thing I can vouch for: Tusshar Kapoor definitely looks worse as a woman.view less
