Plot: Comedy King Allari Naresh and director Ravi Babu have teamed up after a gap of 8 years. Laddu Babu is all about an obese guy who falls in love with a girl. What all did the Laddu Babu tried to woo his girl forms the rest of the story.

Comedy revolving around fat people, however cleverly you try to mask it, is still a nasty thing to do. These are signs of the falling of our civilisation, from the way we treat our comedy in storytelling.
Laddu Babu ( literally meaning Fat Man/ Big Man/ Fat Boy/ Big Boy ) is the story of a ridiculous set of conseuqences of a man who gets bitten by a mosquito and bloats into inhuman proportions. Not even bariatric surgery can save him. He does quite a number of odd jobs for a living and there is the usual latent love thrown into this evil funmaking endeavour.
( Ravi Babu lent his voice for the voice over and I was wondering if he would repeat his trademark "turnaround" in the voice over too..)
This movie is meant for the moral-less and the audience that loves to stuff fluff into their heads.

American films have been an endless source of inspiration for filmmakers around the world, these films have penetrated easily and flourished all over for their imaginative tales and the technology that has come with it. Starting from Satyajit Ray, most of our master filmmakers have often talked about their respective American inspirations, paying various kinds of tributes to the American masters. Of the very few outsiders we have of the Telugu story telling groups, Ravi Babu is definitely one. The American teen comedies and slasher films seemed to capture this man’s attention, but, his films have rarely been anything but straight, unrefined, out of place steals. The world he tries to create often has the seriousness level of laughing at someone because they are fat.
Laddu Babu (Naresh) is as fat as the bad make up managed, his dad’s (Kota) only ambition is to get him married to finally get his hands on the house they live in. Sell it and settle in Goa, that’s his plan. Naresh is fed up with the series of oddball wedding proposals his dad arranges for him (midgets, girls with 6 packs, hideously balding girls). And then it happens, like it always has and will for nobody knows how long - Laddu sees a girl that takes his breath away, I understand she’s pretty hot, liked her in Avunu too, but, how can a random passer by evoke such intensely noble feelings. All of them decide that that’s the girl they want to get married to, and do her only after that, the kind of dignified emotions we are showed up there, so responsible. And then there is a kid stalking Laddu asking him to be his friend. Again, nobility. Does Laddu land the hot one? Why is the kid so hell bent on the fat guy’s friendship?
I would rather prefer Ravi Babu’s slasher experiments with little dialogue than his hideous comic films with his usual set of bad actors, it is easier to look scared than to look happy. He seems to have a deep rooted rage for the ugly side of life and he seems to get off by laughing at it, in it’s face, or he just has a bad idea of what’s funny.
