Meagamann directed by Magizh Thirumeni who is fresh after his successful Thadaiyara Thaakka. Arya and Hansika plays as leads along with plenty of badies. Arya as a gangster is not new to Tamil cinema but Magizh Thirumeni gives a twist in the tale which seems interesting but also boring.
Meagamann runs in backdrop of Goa. Jothi Bhai is one of the drugs dealing leader in Goa and Shiva (Arya) works for him. Jothi Bhai maintains low profile to escape from law and also controls each and everything without showing his face. Vas and Bharthi, two senior and high profile cops plans a secret mission to arrest Jothi Bhai and his J Company. They have an undercover police officer in Jothi Bhai gang for more than 4 years but can’t able to trace him.
Meagamann’s interesting moves start after establishing this long story. What happened to Jothi Bhai? Who’s that undercover cop? What he did? That ends Meagamann. Director Magizh Thirumeni’s script can work for hardcore action movie lovers but seems pace less.
Arya suits into his role perfectly. He did an outstanding job as a handsome hunk. Hansika doesn’t have much to do. In fact, she has one song and couple of comical scenes with one important scene where her mobile plays an interesting twist at the end. Rest all done a decent job. Movie runs too slow and dragging. Cuts needed for this 140 minutes length.
Music director, Thaman did good job in background score but nothing with songs. Overall, Meagamann can work for few and seems interesting as well as boring due to its length..!!
