JayamRavi who was the most successful actor in TamilCinema in 2015, opens his innings in 2016 with Miruthan. Special mention and kudos to the team for bringing in Zombie concept to Tamil cinema.
JayamRavi as a traffic police, LakshmiMenon as a doctor, supported by KaliVenkat for comedy and baby Anikha for sentiment, all together fight against zombies to find a way to stop the spread of the virus.
The movie gets into the plot right from the start without taking much time to explain about zombies. With a minimal slot for love and comedy, and an interesting interval block, the first half is really good.
The second half repeats the same as in the first half and hence the interest level goes down. With no much of twist and turns, and a sudden blunt climax, the second half is an average show.
Technically, the picturisation, songs and BGM, editing, costumes and the plot are all good. The screenplay could have had some more interesting stuffs. Performance wise, JayamRavi is at his usual best again and is well supported by the rest of the cast.
On the whole, Miruthan is a decent zombie thriller.
