When directors think out of the box and opt to work on something unique, there will be two possible outcomes—one: The will get universal critical acclaim, two: it will be get trashed by the critics. Sadly, Naalu Policeum Nalla iruntha Oorum belongs to the second category.

Four cops (Arulnithi, Bhavathi Perumal, Singampuli and Rajkumar) are in a danger of getting transferred from an ideal village to a place where they can’t be safe so they are trying their best to bring in serious condition to the village so that they could peacefully lead their rest of the life. But to their misfortune, the ideal village turns into a cruel place for some serious crime.

Well, the plot of the film is definitely unique despite the fact that it is actually borrowed from the classic British movie, Ask a Policeman. So what went wrong? The egregious execution and absurd climax affects the flow of the movie which eventually tests our patience.

With an uncanny plot in hand, debut director Srikrishna could have opted for executing it more comically but he seems to have preferred to play with drama which fails to impress, thank to the ‘no point whatsoever’ climax.

There is no big scope for Arulnithi Tamilarasu apart from retaining his typical mannerisms and smile. The only actor who actually tried to act in the movie is Singampuli but most of the time, he too goes over the top.

Yogi Babu who comes as a weird thief gives the solace moment in the film with some well executed sequences but sadly the director didn’t give many scenes to him.

To conclude,  Naalu Policeum Nalla Iruntha Oorum could have been a better movie but thanks to the mediocre writing, the film ends up as another average venture.
