Naanum Rowdy Thaan, which marks director Vignesh Shivan's second feature film after the boldly entertaining Poda Paadi, is a delightful film which is packed with so much positivity and real-life situations. Though Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara demonstrate a brillant chemistry, the latter walks away with all the accolades for her performance as a hearing impared person.

Her portrayal as Kadambari is adorably magnificent. She evokes a sense of sympathy while uttering her lines and makes us invest in her personality effortlessly. Vijay Sethupathi's powerful acting will surely make you revisit his role in Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumaara. The dichotomy of being a distressed young girl who is keen on taking revenge and yearns for acceptance is adeptly exhibited by Nayanthara in her career-defining portrayal of Kadambari.

The stellar technical values of the film elevate the overall film-making process beautifully. The synergy of Sreekar Prasad's slick editing, Anirudh's sensational background score and George's tonal camera work in real life locations is totally commendable. Vignesh Shivan has lived up to the promise the first look teaser and the trailer delivered to the audiences.

The idea of casting Nayanthara as the female lead in the movie is a big casting coup pulled off by Nayanthara. It is not difficult to think of all the other characters in the film for their respective roles but the choice to cast her as a hearing impaired needs guts and Vignesh can feel absolutely vindicated about his choice.
