    George Clooney kicks off shooting for The Monuments Men


    Seven men who will do anything to recover the works of art stolen by Germany’s Nazi army; this is the plot ofThe Monuments Men, George Clooney’s new film. The Golden Globe Award-winner has started the shooting for his new film in Berlin this week. The movie, which will undergo production next summer, also starsMatt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and John Goodman.

    German studio Siebente Babelsberg Film GmbH is scheduled to co-produce the film with Clooney and Grant Heslov's production company Smokehouse Pictures, following their sky-touching success of Oscar winnerArgo. Clooney, apart from producing and directing the movie, has also tried his hands upon writing the screenplay for the same in collaboration with Heslov.

    Sony Pictures will be the distributor of the movie in Spain while Twentieth Century Fox will do the task overseas. The film, which is based on Robert M. Edsel and Bret Witter’s book, will narrate the true story of the World War II contingent sent by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to search entire Germany to recover the works of art detained by the Nazi army and in course of time return them to their legal owners.
