Navarasa thilagam is an average village rom com, which you will see in Kollywood every now and then. There is this hero and his friend, who do a lot of businesses and try hard to maintain a 100% failure rate. And there is this heroine, to whom he falls head over heels. He goes to an extent, where he is ready to do anything to get the girl of his dreams. In the meanwhile, the heroine's sister is engaged to guy, with whom the hero tries to be a friend and what happens next is the rest of the story and finally, did he get the girl of his dreams is the climax. Sigh!
Honestly, though the story seem routine, the movie was not all that boring. It was entertaining in bits and pieces and overall it looked quite ok. The humour also clicked, though it looked clichéd. Making fun of fat men has become l a trend in Kollywood and I strongly feel that thisl stereotypical comedy has to stop. Makapa makes his way as a full fledged hero in this film and he was quite good and did a neat job of a boy next door character. Karunakaran was a decent sidekick to makapa. Shrusti looked pretty good as well.
Cinematography was good and music was ok. Editing could have been better because 150 minutes was a bit too much to handle in this film and 15 mins short would have been perfect. Overall, Navarasa Thilagam is a decent rural entertainer with an average story and decent performances, with that routine comedy burst that keeps coming to have us engaged.
