Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe is Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s second venture as the captain of the ship, director which stands out from her earlier attempt Aarohanam.  The movie as Shabeer, an debutant as the lead along with AL Alagappan, Ambika, Piaa Bajpai, Sruthi Hariharan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Thambi Ramaiah  & Y G Mahendran playing some important roles.
The story line is all about during petrol & diesel crisis period, some money eater’s wants to trade it illegally to help a terrorist’s escape plan. Surrounding this base plot, the film unfolds with various stories and connects all at the climax. Shabeer gets a job from his boss AL Alagappan to deliver goods from Trichy to Karaikal. During his journey, he meets various people from Thambi Ramaiah to Piaa Bajpai. Every character which meets Shabeer has a parallel story and flash back sequences. Shabeer character too has a background story.
Though many characters as background stories, none of them has any impact or none given more weight age to support the story plot. All parallel running stories get bored and confusing as the film runs towards the end. Once climax makes every story to connect but Sruthi Hariharan’s portion doesn’t have any connection and doesn’t make any sense to the story plot.
The film cast includes many seasoned performers like AL Alagappan, Ambika, Thalaivasal Vijay, Thambi Ramaiah , Y G Mahendran yet director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan failed to make an mark and doesn’t impress the viewers.  As a story plot, it looks solid one on paper but on-screen nothing gets transferred. Overall, Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe is worth for one time watch!!!
