    The Tamil film fraternity has joined hands to express their concern for the distressed Sri Lankan Tamils and observed a successful hunger strike, organised byNadigar Sangam. The T-town biggies like Ajith, Suriya, Karthi, Sivakumar, Sathyaraj, Prakash Raj and Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar were among the earliest to arrive at the venue of the fast. While an injured Ajith arrived at the event on time, Vijay could not make it to show his support to the cause as he is currently shooting in Australia forThalaivaa.

    To enrich the star power at the demonstration, megastar Rajinikanth arrived at the venue and was greeted with cheers. The young generation actors like Dhanush, Arya, Jiiva, Vishal, Shiva and Udhayanidhi were also seen in full force. The entire programme was observed as a silent protest, without any speeches. However, some actors like Sarath Kumar and Prakash Raj were seen providing bytes to the reporters. Prakash Raj also took the campaign to his Twitter account, "Participating in the hunger strike organised by actors association against the atrocities in Sri Lanka. Support us!"
