Mumbai Police file charge sheet against Saif in hotel brawl case

The Mumbai Police has filed a charge sheet against Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan for allegedly assaulting a South-Africa based businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma and his father-in-law at a luxury hotel in Colaba in February. "Colaba police station filed the charge sheet against Saif in a metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday," Zonal DCP Ravindra Shishwe told PTI.

The actor has been charge sheeted under section 325 (assault) of IPC along with his two associates, who were involved in the brawl. According to sources, the police have also added the statement of 29 persons in the charge sheet.

Saif and his friends got in to a brawl with Sharma at the Wasabi restaurant in Taj Hotel ten months back. The 42-year-old actor was accompanied by Kareena Kapoor, her sister Karisma, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora. According to Saif, Sharma had passed indecent comments against the women who accompanied him which provoked him to raise his hand. Following the ruckus, Saif and his friends were arrested; but were later released on bail.
