Emraan Hashmi to enact a conman in his upcoming Shatir

After Ghanchakaar, Bollywood’s serial kisser Emraan Hashmi is set to reprise his role of a conman once again in his next release, Disney-UTV's Shatir. Emraan and his Jannat director Kunal Deshmukh will reunite once again for this film, which also has Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role.

The female lead for the film is yet to be finalised. The Creative Director of Disney-UTV Manish Hariprasad said, "We are very excited with our next production which is now called 'Shatir'. This will be Emraan's second film with us and we are looking forward to work with him on something he has not played before and he is also very excited about playing a character of a 'shatir' conman.” The film’s title Shatir was reserved by Ashtavinayak Films but it was handed over to Disney-UTV to honour director Rohit Shetty's request.

Shetty has worked with both the production houses in his career. He has worked with Ashtavinayak for his Golmaal series while his upcoming Chennai Express is being produced by Disney-UTV. Hariprasad added, "For the Kunal Deshmukh film starring Emraan Hashmi, UTV wanted the title 'Shaatir'. But the same title was registered by Ashtavinayak. We mentioned it to Rohit Shetty. Rohit was extremely helpful, he immediately spoke to Ashtavinayak and helped us get the title from them.”
