Sonakshi’s fee hike irks Sajid Nadiadwala

It seems, Sonakshi Sinha has overrated herself by hiking her fee after her recent releases,Son of SardaarandDabangg 2,entered the coveted Rs 100-crore club as filmmakers feel she had played no big role in the success of these films. According to the latest buzz, the Bollywood diva was finalized for Sajid Nadiadwala’s next filmKick, opposite Salman Khan but the sudden fee hike has irked the noted filmmaker and he replaced Sonakshi withCocktailgirl Deepika Padukone in his film. An insider said that Sonakshi was also given the signing amount for the movie as Nadiadwala thought it would be great to repeat theDabanggjodifor his movie too, thus he signed her on for his debut directorial venture.

The source added, "Considering the opening weekend numbers ofDabangg 2, Sonakshi thought she should get paid more for her newest assignments." However, Nadiadwala felt she was not responsible for the success of her recent films. "While Sajid knows she has become a big star, he felt Sonakshi didn't really play such an important part in the success ofDabangg 2. So he's said to have refused to give her an increment above the committed fee," a source said, adding, "Sajid felt that if he had to pay more to the heroine, then he might as well cast a bigger actress. And since Deepika hasn't done any film with Salman, this jodi gives the movie an extra fresh touch with such a novel casting."
