Plot: In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world—and stay alive in the process.

Red was a surprise, the story clicked and the film was a sleeper hit in 2010, astonishing i am sure even the makers. Red 2 sets out to milk whatever it was that made the first part click with the audiences and try make some moolah.
A weapon of mass destruction from the cold war era is out in the open and a few govts are after it, while others want it to be hidden away from the former. the original team from the first part is joined by the likes of Hopkins, Zeta Jones and Hun Lee in a series of almost cartoonish incredible action sequneces. There is some banter on relationships and the humane side of it all, but the main aim here is to take the action to a scale larger than life.
It works to a certain extent, there are some genuinely funny parts and scintillating action. Yet, watching has been actors in their sunset execute set piece action sequences by CGI aided filming a second time round is not really all the fun. The film has a heavy Expendables hangover this time round and the novelty that Red had and worked for it is sorely missing.
Catch this one only if you liked Red. If you didnt, you might just use the time watching this film is doing somehting more productive.
