Aamir tries different roles and then plays them to perfection. This time as an ACP officer and he plays it brilliantly. Who would have thought at that time that a story around inspector and crime-fighting can be so interesting and intriguing to watch, but Aamir turns this to reality.
Ajay Singh Rathore (Aamir Khan) plays an ACP for special Mumbai police crime branch looking into the possible ammunition supply to the country from Pakistan. He meets seema (Sonali Bhendre) again after a long time during a concert of Pakistani vocalist Gulfam Hassan (Naseerudin Shah). The love between Ajay and Seema turns explicit now. To crackdown on the terrorist attacks, Ajay makes a special team with Inspector Salim (Mukesh Rishi) and other officers. In one of the attacks, havaldars are killed and Salim survives. Salim is punished and lowered in rank to do the desk job. He feels victimised but Ajay motivates him again. Now Ajay gets attacked and warned but he is relentless. They are looking to get to the root of these agencies to find and stop them all.
Aamir performance is brilliant. There is no superstar when he plays a role. Naserrudin Shah is immaculate. Sonali is taken for a glamour quotient and she fulfils her part.
The music is great, especially the Jagjit's ghazal. The pace of the movie is very apt. It has been ably to transcend on screen very interestingly a concept which seems boring and saped. And the direction is really good.view less
