Let me start by saying I love Parineeti Chopra's work. Yes, people say she does the same thing again & again but I dont mind (been only twice). With new hearthrob Sushant Singh Rajput thrown in for good measure. Does Maneesh Sharma deliver a hit?
Not great but good fun nonethless, SDR is surely worth a watch.
Sushant is a tour guide who falls in love with Parineeti enroute to his own wedding. Yes. They move in together in a live in relationship & as one would expect the previous girl, Vaani, comes back into his life leading to the age old dilemma of who gets the guy. Also added are layers of youth situations, a rather bold look at a love triangle from the conventional Bollywood film & a fresh romance that brings a smile to your face.
At about 140 minutes the film is a bit long and some cropping would do wonders. The second half though is breezy & makes for a fun watch.
The star of the film for me is definitely Parineeti Chopra. Quirky, fun & a fireball on screen, she ironically nails the emotional moments and makes you feel for her.
Sushant is great and underplays it beautiful. Vaani looks pretty & makes an impact. Rishi Kapoor is a show stealer.
Director Maneesh sharma delivers a fun film. Surely better than Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, it doesn't quite matchup to Band Baaja.
All in all, this one's got soul, fun songs, lovely visuals which yrf always nails & an interesting story that could have been so much more. Watch it.view less
