One of my all time personal favourite Marvel superhero Spiderman (might sound like a fan review) has been amazingly brought to life in the film Spiderman! Each member of the cast was perfect for their role, specifically Willem Dafoe, who played the insanity role of the Green Goblin really well. Tobey Maguire was an unexpected surprise, able to show both sides of the Spidey costume with ease. As for the special effects, they are indeed spectacular. As Spiderman swoops between buildings on his web, you won't think once that it's not really him doing so. Director, Sam Raimi has done a great job in including every little element that matters hence satisfying us Marvel fans.
Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is a nerd and a typical loser without any confidence. He happens to be in love with the beautiful Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and he always wishes that someday she would come to fall in love with him too. One day he gets bitten by a radioactive spider and attains spider-like abilities like organic webs which he can shoot out of his wrist, the strength of a spider, spider-sense and can climb walls. This changes his life forever! His best friend Harrys (James Franco) father Norman Osborne (Willem Dafoe), a scientist is the owner of Oscorp. He experiments on himself with his company's new, but unstable, performance-enhancing chemical vapour which increases his speed, strength, and stamina. However, it also causes him to become insane and turn into the villain, Green Goblin. Now its up to Spiderman to rescue the people from the Green Goblin and also he has his own troubles dealing with his emotions pertaining Mary Jane.
The movie has very much lived up to all the hype it had created before its release. It had all of the action and thrills in which you expect from big budget blockbusters, but it also had this genuine emotion and heart. Not only is this very heartfelt film, but it is actually quite funny and the action is extremely exciting to watch, as well it gets quite dramatic near the end. I totally recommend this movie for all those of you who havent seen it.
