    Filmmaker Manivannan’s next to hit screens on Tamil New Year

    The New Year in Tamil Nadu seems to be more colourful this year as director Manivannan will make a comeback with his next directorial ventureNagaraja Cholan MA, MLA, which is slated to hit theatres on April 14. The film is a sequel to his 1994 political dramaAmaidhi Padaiwhich had Sathyaraj in the lead role.Allakai Ammavasai fromAmaidhi Padaiwill characterise the central role in the sequel, according to reports.

    Allakai will portray the transformation of Nagaraja Cholan and his political career. In the sequel, Sathyaraj is playing a deputy chief minister while Seeman is playing a lorry driver. The story is about the latter trying to expose the evil deeds of the former. Mridula, Komal Sharma and Varsha will play the female leads in the film.

    The project is being produced by S. Ravichandran and K. Suresh under V House Productions. Sathyaraj, who played a double role inAmaidhi Padai, is not offered the same in the upcoming sequel.
