Before the Avengers assembled weve had 2 Iron Man, 2 Hulk, 1 Thor & 1 Captain America movies. Black Widow was seen in Iron Man 2 and Hawk Eye makes a first time appearance in this one. If you do the math it is pretty clear that to get The Avengers right the director has to get Hulk and Iron Man right. Iron Man is safe in the good command of Robert Downey Jr. but Hulk was the only character that never peaked in spite of two actors (Eric Bana & Edward Norton) trying to nail it in two different movies. For me the biggest triumph of The Avengers is Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk. He is the best Hulk yet.

Whats it about? For those who have not followed the series, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) brother of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) lands up on earth searching for a cube that will help him rule the earth. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has to stop him so he assembles Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Rufalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson), Hawk Eye (Jeremy Renner), Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to stop Loki.

How is it? Paisa vasool entertainment.

My Take Like I mentioned above Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk is the bestest part of the movie. You have to be patient enough for The Hulk to appear. His entry is almost after an hour but Mark Ruffalo prepares the perfect build up as Bruce Banner with his restrained and almost vulnerable portrayal of a character struggling with his condition. The second best thing is the humor. Joss Whedon gives all the characters some really witty lines to deliver. Since most part is about the Avengers coming together the humor helps in keeping the audience engaged especially those who are not well versed with the back stories of each individual superhero. Out of the all the superheroes I was only interested in Robert Downey Jr and Mark Rufalo. The rest were great supporting actors at their best. The icing on the cake is the last 30 mins when the film peaks as a special effects loaded summer blockbuster movie. If you look at director Joss Whedons filmography youll wonder what made the studios trust him with a rumored 220 million dollar budget film. Now, that is the story I am very interested in knowing! He is the only guy I know who has taken a giant leap from T.V to the big screen.

Word of mouth The Avengers is an ultimate 2 super hero (The Hulk and Iron Man) movie with a fantastic supporting cast of 4 (Black Widow, Hawk Eye, Thor and Captain America).

Ticket Meter Worth any amount of money

P.S. If you have it playing in an Imax theatre drop everything and make an effort to watch it there. The fun just multiplies with the Imax experience.

Drums roll. Marvels legions of fans have reasons to smile and watch the movie theyve been waiting for a while now, not once but as many times as they please. The ensemble cast of the superheroes; a special welcome to Black Widow and Hawkeye, make The Avengers one of the best kickass action films of the year. The Avengers wraps up a long expedition that was kick started several years ago with Iron Man. Really? Is that it?

At the outset, let me quickly highlight to all the fans of the superheroes, none of your stars were compromised. Every one of the superstar was given his/her due credit and importance.

When Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thors (Chris Hemsworth) villainous brother chalks out a possible world ending scheme; Nick Fury, linchpin of S.H.I.E.L.D operatives assembles all superheroes together to stop imminent catastrophe.

I wouldnt get in to the heart of the plot as I find it silly. Nevertheless what heightens this film is the exuberance of the actors in their respective roles aptly coupled with the intellect of Joss Whedon. If I were to bring to light one reason that couldve possibly jeopardized this film then undoubtedly it will be the ego of the superheroes. After raking in millions in their respective films; Josss biggest responsibility here was to make all superheroes come to consensus and work collaboratively. And boy does Joss delivers it brilliantly.

With just Buffy and Firefly to his credit (not to forget X-Men for which he shares credit for screen story); Joss makes this $200 million-plus movie worth every penny and your time. Also, to add to Josss effort is the performances by our heroes; who were simply superb and entertaining. Of all of them, my heart goes out to Mr. Stark aka Iron Man. After a disappointing Iron Man 2; Downey returns with panache, charisma and lots of wit. Next to follow are Thor and Captain America; who struggle just a little bit initially but eventually succeed.

Green, mean Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) returns with a facelift or should I say image makeover. You dont see a fast-running, bouncing all over Hulk; instead you are surprised with a liberator. Youll definitely enjoy watching him on-screen. Whatever said and done, I still miss Edward Norton in this role.

The inclusion of Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow) only makes things better for Marvel fans. Its a treat watching all superheroes from comics come alive on-screen.

Spectacular action shot and executed in grandeur fashion not only makes this film entertaining but pours life into it. Unlike MI 4 or John Carter; The Avengers doesnt indulge in loud presentation of action but intelligently teases you with adequate entertainment. The combat on the streets scene will leave you in awe and wanting for more.

In one line; The Avengers is one dose of high octane, adrenaline pumping action saga that you dont want to miss.

Is this battle to save the word the mega Action adventure we were waiting for?
Greatly entertaining, The Avengers is a fun film but doesnt deliver a knockout punch.

The world is under threat from evil man Loki(Tom Hiddleston) who has taken control of the powerful cube Tesseract. S.H.E.I.L.D chief Nick Fury(Samuel L J) has no option but to bring together the army of powerful heroes under the Avengers Initative.
Captain America(Chris E) is thawed to present day, The Hulk/Banner(Ruffalo) is brought in from Calcutta, Hawkeye(Renner) & Black Widow(Scarlet) are already part of the plan, Thor(Chris H) is here to settle old scores with Loki & Ironman/Stark(Robert Downey) is summoned upon in this incredible war of supremacy.

Considering the number of heroes involved, a considerable runtime would be needed just to give each one of them their due. The first half is great as director Joss.W builds on the characters and brings them together. The initial confrontation scene between Ironman & Thor is a riot. The balance of the film is all action & we surely love our action dont we?

Of the superheroes, Robert Downey is effortlessly suave & has the best lines. He charms his way to being the best only to be upstaged by an insanely fun Hulk, who steals the show in his green avatar.
Scarlet J also packs in quite a punch & the rest too get their adequate screentime.

The action is great, though a little repetitive towards the end & my only issue with the film is that the evilman Loki isnt menacing enough to be needing so many to defeat him. He looks vulnerable & incapable of winning at all.

Director Joss.W does a fine job bringing together all the Marvel stars under one roof & doing justice to all of them.
To sum it up, The Avengers is a must watch for any Marvel series fanboy or even a viewer who has seen all the earlier ones. Even if you have missed a few, just read up a bit and youll be set to roll. Its a good film but just doesnt end up WOWing you.

Four years and five movies in the making,The Avengers is finally here. Right from the first Iron Man & The Incredible Hulk in 2008 to Iron Man 2 in 2010 and Captain America & Thor in 2011, these movies have laid the foundation for cinemas greatest superhero team ever. So does it all pay off? Hell yeah! Joss Whedon has created a movie that doesnt quite touch the The Dark Knight in terms of narrative complexity or inventive action but boy oh boy; this movie surely offers a bang for your buck. It takes its place perfectly by the Batman trilogy as a far more accessible & light-hearted action spectacle.

The world is threatened by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) & his alien army who want the Tesseract cube (seen earlier in Captain America & at the end of Thor) to bring about an apocalypse. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is left with no choice but to activate the Avengers Initiative which calls upon initially the help of Tony Stark AKA Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Natasha Romanov AKA the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) & Steve Rogers AKA Captain America (Chris Evans). Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) & Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellen Skarsgard) have been put under some sort of mind control by Loki and the first job of the team is to rescue them. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) joins the battle initially looking to transport Loki back to Arsgard to stand trial for his crimes but soon enough joins the team himself after some initial skirmishes with Iron Man. The team slowly overcomes their differences with each other and teams to face Lokis army in New York.

The movie is massive in its scope and relentless in its pacing. Right from the opening sequence which involves an attack on S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters that annihilates the entire structure to the humungous Helicarrier which itself is the setting for a chaotic but quite satisfying action sequence. Whedons plan for the movie is simple, despite the earlier movies and the strong individual characters, he wants to present them as a team over anything else; so while there are personal equations involved, none of them are fleshed out adequately enough.

Robert Downey Jr steals the show yet again as Tony Stark and Whedon utilises the wry humour of the character as a nice off-balance for the seriousness of the others. Tom Hiddleston as Loki has a verbal duel of sorts with each of the characters and some end in quite an amusing fashion, particularly his brief talk with the Hulk.

The Avengers is a rousing, comic-book adaptation worthy of the highest praise in the manner in which Joss Whedon has gone about bringing so many diverse superheroes under one roof. This movie lays the foundation for future movies primarily for the team and not so much for individual members; whose stories I believe will follow their own paths. The movie isn't deep, nor thematically rich, it's just a bunch of guys and gals in costumes trading witty banter, making heroic statements and blowing stuff up, i doubt most can do better than that when adapting a comic-book straight up; unless you are Christopher Nolan!

The fans of the franchise now, have another reason to smile, this time an even bigger one!! :-)

Ever since the trailer of The Avengers went on air, from that very day I had been watching it daily twice at least. Already knowing that its got to be a fantastic film...somewhere I feared that hype often kills it!!

Thank God!! Nothing like that happened...instead, I, after finally having watched the awesome Superhero flick, feel that this one was under hyped!!!

Its a waayyyyyy tooo goooooddd!!!!! One of the best kick-ass action flicks EVER!

F***!!! I don't have words enough to describe the excitement I'm in right now. Brilliant it is! Anyone who has ever read any Superhero comic book in his life, GO SEE the movie...

Having dazzling set designs all amazingly well crafted into one package, director Joss Whedon to my amazement has given this Superhero feast, a nice new treatment. And that is that The Avengers despite having been put into Genres like Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi, surprise, surprise, it is Extremely funny too...I knew Tony Stark(aka Iron Man) would be delivering some witty lines here and there, but never was I expecting it to be sooo hilarious!! Amazing work!!

6 Superheroes, the earth to save, It has EVERYTHING a fan-boy would ever ask for, even more!!

After having successfully introduced us to Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America in their individual ventures, Marvel studios have done a brilliantly good job by developing this unbelievable spectacle!!


One more thing that I would specially appreciate about The Avengers is that EVERY
superhero gets his/her deserving screen space! Nobody was overshadowing.

Iron Man is techy, Hulk is destructive, Thor being a Demi-god it must have been a
really difficult task to group them up along with Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain
America who are already used to obeying orders. Plus with all that being in place
initially they had their egos clashing against one another. Having all that resolved,
the enemy is Loki, brother of Thor, there were Supernatural creatures that had to be
blended within the perimeters of the world that had been developed. Man, this would
have been one hell of a tough job!!

Spectacular, jaw dropping action, excellent fun, smart and witty dialogues make this
Superhero extravaganza a treat to watch!! Exceeds all expectations.
I'm still working on believing it! It was that good... And well, I don't know if I
should tell this in public but I, literally was sitting on the seat like a little
child, clapping, whistling and laughing my lungs out, enjoying every scene of the movie.

There is sooo much to write about but that would be unnecessary i guess, so only one suggestion in the end.....Don't miss this!!

This definitely couldn't be any better. Hats off to Joss Whedon, the cast who delivered
their performances with a panache and to the Marvel crew!!!

This was by far the most entertaining memorable movie I have seen in my life!! Will cherish this for long..... I wish I had my friends with me...huh!! Nevermind..!! ;-)

The Avengers are finally here.....Go!! Go!! Go!!!
