Finally I decided to watch 'Wanted' after all the praise and box office acclaim it has been getting. After 10 minutes into the movie I realized what I was in for. I continued just to see how worse the film can get than the first 10 minutes. I have just one question for Prabhu Deva. What in the world was he thinking when he made this movie?

Radhey, yes thats Sallu's name in the movie, is a big time thug. There are 2 gangs in mumbai and are fighting with each other over area possession. Sallu joins one of the gangs and there are random action sequences where he kills around 1578 people alone. Utimately a major suspense is revealed which changes the whole dynamics of the movie. Oh yeah and there is a tharki cop in between too played by Mahesh Manjrekar. I don't know why he was there the whole time.

This movie has only masala with a tadka of some hot chilli powder, garnished with some more masala. The entire movie has a south india look and feel attached to it and makes Akshay's kung fu in CC2C look awesome. There are random characters and random filler scenes in the movie which have absolutely no relation to the main plot. The main villain is shown to have a sense of humor which is extremely funny in the end, not because of the content but because it goes all wrong. In fact the entire movie can easily fit into Sajid Khan's ham scene section.

One example of the amazing jokes you will witness in this movie. Salman and Ayesha get locked in a lift. So Salman blows air over Ayesha's face since she is feeling hot. So ayesha asks him "Vicco Vajradanti?". Salman nods in approval and Ayesha goes "Me too!"

This movie was tailor made for Rajnikant, but Prabhu Deva took a risk and casted Salman Khan instead. Result? The movie turns out to be a huge grosser.

The movie has horrible music. I did not like even 1 song.

There is no acting in this movie, only hamming. Negative points for the main villain.

Prabhu Deva, please stick to dancing and choreography. Please do not attempt another movie and make me hate you.

Rating: Definitely skip it.

P.S. You can definitely watch it in a group if you are desperately in need of some senseless laughs. Watch out 'Gunda' your throne is challenged.view less

In an industry, with a 90% failure rate and which is still running, you should get used to be surprised by predictable surprises. Wanted is such a surprise. With negative anticipations and unfavorable whispers, Wanted catches the movie-goer completely off-guard. Its a brilliant debut for the brilliant dancer as a director.

The film has a descent plot and reaches there with utmost ease.
So after the party is over, Salman, walks away with the cake and also with the cherry over the top. The 42 yr old actor who claims he can never be caught while acting since he believes to be himself and doesnt actually act proves this point with his latest release. Effortlessly as he carries himself, he is the perfect choice who can pull of the moody character of Radhey with such ease.

Wanted is a story of an assassin who kills for money. He walks with a gait that isnt unnoticeable and he doesnt think twice while flipping through gangs if offered in lump some which also justifies his philosphy, ladki ke peeche bhaagega to ladki bhaagegi, Paise ke peece bhaagega to ladki tere peeche bhaagegi. He says, Ek baar jo main commitment kar do, to main khud ki bhi nahi sochta, which is also the dialogue just before the closing credits.So by now you might get an idea what Radhe is like, he kills and he kills casually, hangs around with a couple of loyal friends, falls in love with a pretty call centre worker and in the mean time is also threatened and wanted by rival gangs , whom he once worked with.The movie has also got many funny moments like when Prakash Raj who plays Ganni bhai is arrested by the Mumbai Police. The dialogues are the strength of the movie, they are catchy and not just in the way you know the criminal or the street lingo.

Thumbs-up for Prabhu-Devas direction. Besides, action sequences are remarkably shot. It actually also reflects a hard-working Salman.
The one in which there is a total black-out and faces are visible only in fire-sparks is better than a Die-Hard.The songs are already chartbusters plus the background score matches unanimously with the ongoing scenario. There are a few drawbacks, though. They reduce the overall credit the movie deserve because they are out-dated.Like Inspector Talpade (Mahesh Manjrekar) blackmailing Jhanvis (Ayesha Takia) widowed mother for sex that to ekdum khule aam. I mean come on, these days I am sure you would find an INDIA TV or a STAR VAARDAT in the bedroom prior to Talpade. Also Vinod Khannas dialogues are that of early 90s ( Live like a lion, Fight for the country, Die Like a legend)

The cinematography, sometimes make you feel like watching a South Indian film (camera zig-zags or zooms right on the face)
But all flaws covered, forgotten, forgiven thanks to Salman Khan who is at his best avatar. Dude, he manages to look cool even in orange cargos, white shirt. The script is descent and unfolds with the required pace.

Overall, Inder Kumar nice job, Ayesha Takia plays her part well, Prashant Raj as Ganni bhai fantastic, Mahesh Manjrekar (Inspector Talpade) is excellent till the end. Vinod Khanna is convincing.

But Wanted belongs to Salman , its a Grand feast to all his diehard fans. It scores with brilliant dialogues, well-filmed action not forgetting the Bollywood romance and a comic relief which gives you enough excuses to get out of the house and enjoy this extended weekend.

Salman Khan badly wanted a hit who end the drought of failures at the box office and him been ruled out as lost charisma star. Wanted comes out with a banging knock on the box office, giving an entertainment filled action flick at the box office.

Radhe (Salman Khan) is a gangster. But with some ethics, he doesn't hit kids and women. He works for Gani bhai (Prakash Raj) and kills all his enemies. He comes across Jhanvi (Ayesha Takia) whom he develops an affection for. Meanwhile, corrupt Inspector Talpade's (Mahesh Manjrekar) gains a lustful desire for Jhanvi and starts following and troubling her. Radhe's attempt to save her always from one or the other goon, makes Jhanvi fell for Radhe, knowing that he is a gangster. Gani bhai returns to Mumbai to control things from the bottom but gets messed up with police. He escapes and the anti-climax develops.

The movie is full pop-corn masala flick. Dancing, action, dialogues everything deserves a whistle. And the man who carries them all with his midas touch is Salman Khan. Salman shows that age hasn't subdued his charisma and style. Prabhu Deva being the director, the dancing steps are expected to be great and Salman makes them look even more better with his well build. He is immaculate in the action scenes too, which though resemble Rajnikant style of fights, come out very convincing when Salman is enacting them. Salman's dialogue delivery is even better, 'sabke apne apne funde hote hai main aurte aur bache ko nahi marta', 'jhund mein suaar shikaar karte hai, sher akele shikkar karta hai'.

The story though not very different but develops at a right pace and when the anti-climax unfolds you have something different in store. The punches come from every department. And that keeps the movie not only intriguing but entertaining too for the whole length.

Music by Sajid-Wajid is superhit. 'Love Me love Me', 'tera hi jalwa' gives the kind of stylish tapori rolling effect well.

Its out and out a Salman film. Yahan bhi hoga wahan bhi hoga, Salman ka jalwa. view less
