We all know Jason Bateman can do comedy. So can Tina Fey, Rose Byrne and Adam Driver. This is Where I Leave you is the result of them attempting drama. The movie has its moments, but it never quite reaches the highs you would expect of it, especially considering the all star cast.

Judd’s (Bateman) life is in shambles after he discovers that his wife is cheating with his boss. One day, he gets a call from his sister Wendy (Tina Fey) informing him that his father has passed. After an awkward reunion with the rest of siblings, their mother informs them that their father’s last wish was for them to complete an obscure Jewish ritual which required them to stay in the same house for a week. This conveniently sets the tone for the incoming awkwardness, and how the siblings will reconnect with each other.

This is where I leave you is quite disappointing. It’s less emotional than it could have been and less funny than it should have been. It won't leave you roaring with laughter, nor will it make you sob. It’s just ‘meh’. Thats not to say that the movie is unwatchable, but there’s no reason to go see it either.
