plot

The basic idea behind Ya Rab is to show how Islam has been used as a tool to propagate terrorism. The Quran does not approve of terrorism in any way, not a single verse in the Holy Quran supports terrorism. Many people mention verses from the Holy Book and present it as evidence of Islam being a terror breeding religion for t...more

Verdict

“Ya Rab delivers its commentary on terrorism heavy-handedly with clumsy execution and dreadful writing. This one definitely needs to be skipped.”

By now we have gone through years & years of terrorism based films with Islam as a backdrop. I know we are a country driven by religous beliefs, but you can be throwing shit in the name of cinema at us. Coupled with bad actors, horrendous direction & bad music, one can call Ya Rab one of the worst films ever to hit screens ever.

Moulana Jilani preaches terrorism because the Muslims are oppressed. His daughter one day falls victim to one such act & this brings about a sea change. On the other hand, righteous cop Ranvijay Singh, who beats the shit out of people, goes out there to change this all.

I must specially mention the climax where a patient is being treated in an ambulance stuck in the middle of a mob. Believe me, it is the funniest scene in the film. Without exageration.

All the actors overact, most of all Ajaz Khan. Though I thoroughly enjoyed his randomness on Bigg Boss, paying cash to watch him on the big screen is excruciating. He hams all the way through and make this fare more difficult to digest.

Director Hasnain has earlier made classics (pun intended) like Train, The Killer, Jashn, which were equally bad, but atleast had fantastic music. This time around that one redeeming factor is also missing.

If you are reading this review, I really pity you because there are so many movies out there to watch. If you are the makers of this epic fiasco, please contact the website, get my number and I will personally share with you multiple scripts that can be made into movies with this investment.
