Although the love track is not bad at all, the film is based on a very good premise: that of a father-daughter relationship and a mysterious past which ruins their present. The lead actors: Anupam Kher and Tena Desai do perfect justice to their roles, something which is always expected from a seasoned veteran like Kher but the newcomer did not give much room for complain too. You would have seen her on numerous occasions in advertisements for Fair & Lovely, Titan, Hero Honda etc. Even side roles are played by Pawan Malhotra (Tiger Memon from Black Friday), Seema Biswas, Suhasini Mulay and the likes.
However, a shabby script filled with unnecessary flashbacks and repetitive sequences does it in. It had the potential to be tremendous, with metaphorical sequences of the confrontation between father-daughter, and a healthy debate between right and wrong with no straightforward answers. However, the interest built up in the first half diminishes slowly as the script starts stretching until it reaches its hackneyed, stock ending. An apt length for the film would have been around 90 minutes, which is decent enough for a suspense thriller film.
Reasons to watch the film are wholesome performances by Anupam Kher, Pawan Malhotra and decent ones by the daughter and other actors. Reasons to skip are a young Anupam Kher (there is zero semblance with his older counterpart) and a bevy of Oscar winning films running in the next theater. And the World Cup, due to which we don't have any major releases this week.view less
