Yeh jo mohabbat hai is a movie totally stuck in a time warp with DDLJ and Ek duje ke liye helping the storyline along with occasional dialogues and scenes. There are warring Rajput families with an old enmity and obviously when the two kids born in the two families (cheesily on the same day) fall in love(even more sticky mozzarella cheesily, on first sight) you put your feet up on the seat in front, find a comfortable groove and snuggle into your seat for a snooze.
The movie is interminably long at two and a half hours plus with too many songs including a bizarre one that goes on about the 'big fat Indian wedding'. If this is their idea of being hip, give me a Bhojpuri film anyday . Mohit Chauhan's soothing voice is the only saving grace, in that it helps you in your napping exercise.
Aditya Samanta is a strange looking hero with a weird hairstyle. I wish people would understand that being from a family with a filmi lineage doesn't automatically qualify you to become a hero. Nazia Hussain is sweet but not very unique. At times she looks like Nargis Fakhri with those pouting lips, at times like Amy Johnson with her kohl lined eyes. But she tries.
Nazia had come with an entourage to see the movie. They and yours truly comprised the audience. They could have at least doled out refreshments in the interval to a ticket buying person like me. I went up to congratulate her on her debut and seeing how happy she looked almost asked if she could sponsor a massage for me after this torture. Avoid.view less
