    It is the Indian cinema stealing the show everywhere we go as 100 years has been completed to achieve a benchmark in history and Limca Book of Records could be no exception. The 24thedition of Limca Book of Records, which was launched on Wednesday, is an Indian cinema special, celebrating the centenary of the industry.

    Many distinguished personalities were named People of the Year 2013 at the star-studded event, though actress Shabana Azmi, cinematographer Santosh Sivan, actor-director-choreographer Prabhu Deva, Assamese director Jahnu Barua, documentary filmmaker Mike Pandey and film editor Sreekar Prasad were only present to receive the honour. The honours were given away by the chief guest for the event, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari.

    An elated Shabana stated, "I am really glad to be a part of the event. Such events encourage me to do better work. I shall continue to do my best." Other eminent personalities like Naseeruddin Shah, Ranbir Kapoor, Gulzar, Mani Ratnam, Mira Nair, Aparna Sen and Vidya Balan also featured in the list of awardees. It was a treat to watch Prabhu shaking legs to his popular trackMuqablaand he went almost speechless after the event, "I love dance more than anything else." According to Barua, who is currently working onHar Pal, filmmaking needs to be more associated with the mission to protect humanity rather than mere business.
