4 Reasons Why Freaky Ali Could Be A Perfect Popcorn Flick

We were pleasantly surprised when Salman Khan teased us the with the poster of Freaky Ali. The almost generic poster announced the return of Sohail Khan to directing and introduced Nawazuddin Siddiqui's involvement.

Now, after weeks of promotion, teasers, posters and song releases, the movie is set to open this Friday (September 9) nation-wide and honsestly we are a little excited.

Here are our expectations from the movie:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will deliver a hilarious performance.

This one is quite simple to explain really. Great actors are convincing in all kinds of roles. And, let us make very clear, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a great actor. Also, he has already shown in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and The Lunchbox that when he gets going, there's no one more funny than him.

An interesting set of supporting players.

There are no stand-out actors besides Nawazuddin in the fiilm. But there is an interesting mix of actors that can do decent job. 

A non-cricket sports film.

More than any other year ever, films based on cricket have been in the news. Whether they are releasing or getting made, Bollywood's love for cricket has reached an all-time high. It would be nice to see a film about a sport that gets very little limelight. 

Inspired from a reliable resource.

Freaky Ali is said to be inspired from an iconic American comedy Happy Gilmore. The film, released in 1996, received decent reviews and appealed to the audiences. And going by the trailer of the Freaky Ali, it looks like the film will find an audience.
