At 40, Kajol still makes us crave for her screen appearance

Just as she turns a year older today, the vibrantly talented Kajol makes us wonder what a brilliant actress she has been for the industry. One of the supremely versatile actresses in the country, Kajol celebrates her 40th birthday today.

Kajol has had a wonderful cinematic journey not so easy to put into words. After having starred in about fifty Hindi films the actress has made a significant mark in the industry that only a few have been able to write. Once a youth sensation, now a mother of two Kajol could simply be termed the most influential ladies we have in the country. Having started in a film like a Bekhudi, she had her first grand success in Baazigar opposite Shahrukh Khan, the actor who she has shared a wonderful record with. DDLJ in 1995 came as the proudest cinematic glory of her career as the film broke all Box Office records. Her characters in Gupt, Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (K3G), Fanaa and My Name Is Khan are still regarded as some of her best.

The actress has won six Filmfare awards including one for best actress in a negative character for Gupt. She married in 1999 to her co-star and action hero Ajay Devgn and now has two children, a daughter named Nysa and son Yug. While the actress turns 40 today, we wish her a very happy birthday and hope to see her on screen soon.
