8 Trailers Of Upcoming Bollywood Movies That Make 2017 Look Promising

2017 has been a year of mixed emotions when it comes to Bollywood. While there have been mega hits like Raees, Baahubali 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, there were also major disappointments such as Tubelight and Jagga Jasoos.

However, the remaining half the year has some rather promising upcoming films that can make 2017 a memorable year.

From gritty political/crime dramas to hardcore masala entertainers it has a lot in store and the trailers of these upcoming films are the biggest testimony to this fact.

Here are 8 upcoming films, he trailer of which makes wish that the release date of these films were sooner.

    Lucknow Central

A small town musician, a musical band competition among prison inmates and a probable jail escape in the political hotbed of U.P, the trailer for this upcoming flick has Farhan Akhtar in a never seen before avatar. The trailer also shows glimpses of Diana Penty, Ravi Kissen, Ronit Roy and Deepak Dobriyal essaying pivotal roles. Some scenes particularly the one in which they show police inflicting torture on Farhan makes a lasting impression and if the trailer is anything to go by this audience would be in for quite a gritty tale.

    Simran

The much-awaited trailer of Simran has truly left audiences wanting more. Kangana and her quirks are as adorable as they are intriguing. Though the trailer has a light-hearted feel to it but also hints at dicey issues like gambling addiction and kleptomania, by which one can be sure that there is much more in store. After Anushka Sharma in Jab Harry Met Sejal, Kangana pulling off the Gujarati accent and some rather cheesy pickup lines also looks pretty fun

    Secret Superstar

Any Aamir Khan movie is sure to create buzz, but the combination of Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim fresh after the success of Dangal has definitely sent the fans into frenzy. Like all his movies, Aamir Khan’s avatar of a seasoned, somewhat bizarre and caricature-ish Bollywood musician juxtaposed against the innocent and talented, but oppressed Zaira seems to have all the potential to repeat the success of Dangal.

    Judwa 2

This sequel 90s Salman Khan starer blockbuster Judwa is a major throwback and thus the enthusiastic reaction to the trailer. Varun Dhawan in a double role and some great visuals looks quite promising. The film is also being directed by David Dhawan, who directed the actual Judwa, and given the comic skills of father-son duo, the trailer promises a fun, masala comedy that Bollywood and especially David Dhawan is known for.

    Shubh Mangal Savadhan

You can hate him or love him but you cannot disagree with the fact that Ayushman Khurana’s movies have an edge to them. First sperm donation Vicky Donor and now erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Savadhan, he has perfected the art of addressing uncomfortable topics with a tongue-in-the-cheek brand of humor, which is evident in the trailer. Also first Dum Laga Ke Haisha, then Toilet- Ek Prem Katha and now Shubh Mangal Savadhan, Bhumi Pednekar’s career graph and choice of films both deserve a special recognition. You go girl!

    Qaidi Band

Although the premise looks similar to that of Lucknow Central, what sets the mood of this trailer apart is the ensemble cast which has all new faces apart from Sachin Pilgaonkar. The youth appeal of the movie is very evident from the trailer and the I am India anthem in the background seems quite catchy.

    Bhoomi

How cool is it to see our dear Sanju Baba back on screen. The trailer promises a gritty. Power packed revenge saga with Sanjay Dutt adding the much-needed gravitas. The story of the film looks quite similar to that of Maatr and Mom, but the father daughter chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hyadri seems very real and heart touching in the trailer itself.

    Babumoshai Bandukbaaz

With his acting chops and out of the box film choices, Nawazuddin Siddique has created a devoted fan base of his own, and if the trailer of this film is anything to go by then this one is going to be another unforgettable Nawaz experience. Nawaz is in his comfort zone with the quirky, foul mouthed desi action avatar with a tinge of dark humor makes us wish that the release date of the film was closer.
