Aamir Khan to update PM on pathetic condition of manual scavengers

Though he is already doing an excellent work by throwing light on deep-rooted social evils in his reality show Satyamev Jayate, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is not satisfied with this only and wants to do more to change the existing scenario. To improve the pathetic condition of over three lakhs manual scavengers, on whom he had focused in one of the recent episodes of his show, Aamir will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today. "We had sought an appointment with the Prime Minister and Aamir would be meeting him tomorrow morning," the actor's spokesperson said yesterday. Before this, the actor made a presentation before a parliamentary panel on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the pharmaceutical sector. Meanwhile, Aamir is upset about the rumours that the release date of his upcoming thriller Talaash has been pushed to next year. He said that the Reema Kagti-directed film has shaped up well and is coming out on schedule. "I would like to clarify that Talaash is releasing as planned on Nov 30th". The actor told IANS, "Over the last few weeks I have noticed that there have been some attempts to spread rumours about the film. Clearly someone is not very happy with the way it is progressing, and I can assure that that someone is not anyone from our team."
