After Indira Gandhi, a Biopic on Sanjay Gandhi Announced

Gandhi Family, especially Sanjay Gandhi's story, is once again gaining popularity in the country. It is announced that a film will be made on the life of Sanjay Gandhi and it is helmed by National Awards winning director for Shahid, Hansal Mehta. The biopic will be an adaptation of the most popular book ‘The Sanjay Story’.

Talking of the biopic, Sanjay Gandhi said, “Vinod Mehta's book is remarkable as it is engaging, rarely judgmental and based on solid research. Not only does the book throw up surprising details on this controversial figure in Indian politics but it also recounts a tumultuous time from our past. The Emergency and its impact have always interested me”.

He continued, “Sanjay Gandhi, his life and death have always been shrouded in mystery as has been his relationship with India's own Iron lady & his mother, Indira Gandhi. I feel both challenged and privileged to be making this important film”. The title of the film hasn’t been decided, as of now. Also, it is said that the film will go on floors next year.
